Link Harvest: Impact of FOSTA on Male Sex Workers

 Male sex workers tend to be understudied. This is especially true for studies or policies that portray sex workers as victims. The paper studies the discussion around FOSTA/SESTA, which virtually ignored any discussion of make sex workers and impacts. It then examines the impacts of FOSTA/SESTA on male sex workers. The impacts are similar to those previously confirmed on female sex workers: FOSTA has negatively impacted sex workers by driving the means of communicating with clients, and therefore significantly degraded the ability both to screen clients and to rate clients for safety to the benefit of other sex workers. The situation for male sex workers is further aggravated by the lack of media attention and the lack of broader support networks.
