Amazon isn't just the online commerce store. It isn't just specifically Amazon applications. Through their AWS dominance in cloudstorage/hosting, Amazon is deeply embedded into network traffic that has nothing to do with Amazon.

What I really want to know is how she plans to avoid the operating systems on her smartphone, since AFAIK, you have to use Apple, Google or Microsoft. Am I missing a phone that doesn't have one of these?

She's doing them one at a time. So when she is blocking Apple, she will use an IOS phone. Or heck, even a MS phone.
